I WOOD's Environmental Benefits
As an alternative to conventional wood, the I WOOD “eco-lumber” boasts many environmental advantages.
SAVING OUR FORESTS
I WOOD reduces the need to destroy forests by milling two beams instead of one out of a log, and by using samller diameter trees that would otherwise be wasted.
SMALLER CARBON FOOTPRINT
I WOOD contributes in many ways to a reduced carbon footprint. Local production means less transportation. The interlocking shapes diminish the space, weight and volume during shipping.
ENERGY WISE WOOD
Efficient building with simple tools requires minimal electrivity. Manufacturing waste is converted into wood pellets for heating.
CLEAN BUILDING
After completing an I WOOD construction, nothing is left on the job site (except for the recyclable packaging)
ECOLOGICAL AWARENESS
Being part of the “green” movement, I WOOD encourages the use of raw materials sourced locally, from eco-forestry practices or recycling logging waste.
